Hi Guys!

So I'm going on my week-long archaeology trip tomorrow! I've been packing like crazy and making sure I have everything - I'm super siked! :D

I also bought Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 for the Wii the other week and I haven't stopped playing it in my spare time! My boyfriend also got Legend Of Zelda: Occharina of Time (I'm not sure that's how you spell it) and cause it's his favourite childhood game, he's been obsessing over that! Oh, 21st Centrury!

Anyway, as I'll be camping I won't be posting... I picked up some lovely items from my local market the other day:

Evening!

So I'm feeling very under the weather today and I haven't really done much today but watch housing programmes on television. Because of my illness, I decided to play around with some items in my wardrobe and my camera and these were the results - I hope you guys like them!

In other news, I've had a lovely time with my boyfriend over the past week. We went to the local Seaquarium (all ethical and about conservation, don't worry!) and saw the wonderful sea lion show that they do to keep the sea lions fit and healthy and they were so adorable! Just like Labradors without the legs. We also baked almond cupcakes & mini scones which was tones of fun.

Evening!

Went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban today! It was so fun! But now I cannot unsee Lupin's pedo tendencies (pedo chocolate, pedo toy train, pedo cardi, pedo map...)

Had a pretty lazy day tbh... watched Grease and Becoming Jane last night and gonna watch Pride and Prejudice tonight. I really should be getting on with summer work i.e. 4,000 word extended essay, history coursework and theory of knowledge essay but I have a never ending list of things to do which usually = me doing nothing (except watching films :P).

So yeah, outfit reflects mood; my big shirt has actually been worn a lot recently due to my 'cba with anything except exercise and films' mood:

Wake the Earth

Hi guys,

Had a lovely weekend with my boyfriend who just got back from a week & a half of travelling round Europe. It was so nice meeting him off the plane (not as exciting as they make it look in the movies though, I have to say...) and he brought me back 3 bottles of Polish vodka that I'm rather excited to try!

So I've been lazy with posts, I know but I've just been soaking in the fact that I've finally finished college! YAY. Also found out today that my boyfriend's been accepted into Edinburgh University so I am over the moon for him! (:

Just listening to a bit of the Honey Trees in my room, on Tumblr and just posting this then it's off to bed for me for I have work in the morning and I need rest. Caught the last episode of Made in Chelsea! SUCH a good episode! Cannot wait for next season! :D

Back in Brown

Evening all!

I had a lovely day in Chester with my boyfriend today. We were planning on spending the day going round the museums as it's something we've never done when we go there. Alas, there was a storm so we opted for taking shelter in Starbucks where I got a come-worthy hazelnut hot chocolate.

There was nothing in the charity shops today - :( - but I did manage to pick up a few items from Primark. I got a brown shirt, a cute dress and a cosy brown cardigan shown below.

I have a college reunion party for the course I'm on next week and I haven't got the first clue what to wear! Formal? Informal? Semiformal? :S I better get looking...

Hi guys! PHEW! I'm so very nearly done with exams! I've had Biology, Italian, Psychology and History and Maths today. I only have English tomorrow afternoon and I'm done! Wooowheeee!

I also just found out that I'm going to Cardiff next weekend with my friend which is hopefully gonna be awesome to be able to see what the nightlife's like there!

So I went to the library all day to revise :( - no fun BUT I now know all about protein synthesis, mitosis and how to calculate the magnification of an image! My mum, being the darling she is, bought me these lovely shorts today to cheer me up as well:

It's a New Dawn, It's a New Day

Just trying out my new webcam; I'm such a derp.

Hey my lovely followers!
I'm am so, so, so excited for summer! I have quite a bit lined up:

Batman Live on 23rd July - yes, I am a geek but I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to this, I can't even say!
An archaeology camping course for a week in August where I can get my dig on and become a badass ameture archaeologist and prepare for uni :')
And 2 weeks at the end of summer in Edinburgh with my boyfriend.
On top of that, I'm hopefully attending the Supernatural convention (Asylum 7) in October with my sister which I literally cannot wait for!

I know I've just made myself sound like a major nerd but I don't even care because I am so excited!

Just a quick note here to apologise for my major lack of postage but I will definitley start blogging again once the summer beings properly! I have a whole bunch of exams next weeks and then I'm in college for another 3 weeks but then I'm finished! Woowheee.

I'm looking into buying a digital SLR as well as my filmy so I can document my style finds as and when I find them so I can share them with you pure babes!

I'd Rather Be Working for a Paycheck than Waitng to Win the Lottery

So, I haven't posted in a while. I don't really go online much anymore what with college work and other things taking up my time. I have come to realise that I've spent the past year not really living. I went to college, got out of Prestatyn, met new people and fell in love. But when I reflect back, it's all so menial. I mean, I'm still living in the same place, doing the same things with the same people. There's only so many times I can go out and get wasted before it gets boring as well.

I don't look after myself properly anymore - something I wholly regret. I don't go to the gym. I don't go to pilates or salsa aerobics. I don't meditate anymore. I don't dream anymore. I don't listen to music as much anymore - because I'm growing up. I'm becoming part of the machine that is expected of me. I don't want to be part of the machine. I want to be Natalie again. I miss my alone time. I miss days where I would wake up and meditate, go to the gym and spend the day for me.

I wouldn't give up the life I have now but I wouldn't necessarily argue that I'm happier in either life. I love my boyfriend. More than anything. But I don't want to lose myself in this relationship. A year has passed and I'm beginning to realise that I miss me.

College is tough especially when I have to make time in the week for my boyfriend, my dad, my mum, my sister and my friends - where do I fit in? If I get a night alone I usually have work that needs to be done, essays and such.

Luckily, all the things I miss are not impossible to begin again. I need to juggle my time more. I need to find /make even 10 minutes in the day just for me.

Because I miss that.
And I want me back.

I Just Think You're Kinda Awesome.

I'm still getting used to this relationship lark. It's been about 9 weeks since we met, 3 weeks since we got together and a week since we made it official and I'm still confused. I wouldn't stop it for the world but I'm still kinda freaked out by the whole thing. This is my first relationship in 3 years - my first real relationship - and it's such a change for me emotionally that I'm just a bit jumbled at the minute. It's just strange when I take step back and look at it. I mean, everything's so clear, but it's like I'm wearing someone's glasses, trying to make it clearer but all I'm doing is making it fuzzier.

There's so much I dig about this guy. He turns me into a bit of a female sometimes and I hate him for it but I also kind of love it cause I get to gush over him when he's not looking. I'm very, very much in like of this guy and I'm so so so glad I met him because I've gained another best friend as well as someone I like super much(:

I think the best thing is that because it's so soon in our relationship, I still have so much to learn about him and it's kind of exciting. I don't know what's gonna come but I think, for now, I'm just gonna cherish that little spark I get when I see him smile. I'm just a little bit confused right now and I need to be patient with myself, I think.

We also came across this stunning Laura Ashley hat, that my sister has on here. I have no idea why I didn't buy that.

I had to kill a moth today. I cried. It was one of the worst things I've ever had to do in my life.

I poured water into the sink before seeing the moth. I didn't know what to do once I'd noticed it. I poked it and it's little wings fluttered and it started writhing about in pain. The sight was horrible. I asked my mum what to do and she said I'd have to flush it down the sink but I couldn't, cause I couldn't bring myself to kill it, but she was "watching something" so she wouldn't do it. I stared at it for a minute and saw it's wings flapping widly and it staggering in circles and obviously, the best thing for it was to flush it. So I did. It felt horrible.

It might sound lame and ridiculous that something like that could bring me to tears, but there's some things I am strongly opposed to and can't do and one of those things is killing things. I felt so disturbed that I was the one that brought the pain to it. I think, what made it worse was that that moth had been hanging round in my kitchen for the past day or so, so it was kinda like my kitchen moth. And I killed it.

Someone said to me, "Humans are born with an instinct to kill. I hate it myself, but it has to be done." I replied to this with the same thing I'd tell anyone, "Bugs don't harm me, they don't bother me, they're living their little buggy lives just like we live our little people lives, there's no need to kill one just because it's near you. I have a mosquito in my room right now & it's annoying the crap out of me, but I'm not gonna kill it just cause it's there and I'm not gonna use our 'instinct to kill' as an excuse either. We gain nothing from killing, only the sad satisfaction of feeling superior to other beings. Pointless, really."

I'm not pretending to be wise and knowledgeable about this and I'm definitley not preaching. Anyone who knows me knows the stance I take toward killing bugs for the sake of killing bugs. I did something today that I'm not comfortable with and it kinda fucking upset me. I'm not dwelling on it, but I'm definitley a little disturbed by it.

I learnt a lesson from this today; I'm always gonna check the sink before I start washing up.

Nowhere Boy

Nowhere Boy is a Sam Taylor-Wood movie about John Lennon's early and troubled years as a teenager. It's based on the book Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon by his half-sister, Julia Baird. It covers the years 1955-58 when he was aged 15-18 and is a story of the relationship between him, his mother Julia and his Aunt Mimi and also of his beginnings in The Quarry Men and meeting Paul McCartney. Aaron Johnson (Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging) will play Lennon. There is no confirmed dates as of yet.

So, I uploaded a new header, what do we think? The edges are a bit messed up on the pictures - I tried to straighten them out and it kinda funked a little, I'll sort it out another time.

I heard some new My Chem songs online from the gig at The Roxy the other night and I'm beyond stoked for the new album! And judging by these pictures, it seems it's not just their music that's gone old school; this could totally pass for the Bullets era. (Minus Frank's weight gain and Mikey's lack of glasses, that is :P)

So, it's kinda true & maybe slightly known that I have an awed interest in eating disorders. I find them complex and beautifully shocking. I don't endorse them nor preach about how people shouldn't have them. I remain indifferent. Maybe a little biased, but what can I say? The changes the body goes through, the dark, weary fealing you get when you become involved because you know you shouldn't really be looking at it but just can't seem to help it - I love it. I've known, and still know, people who have or have had eating disorders and I love how I'm able to talk to them about it and for them to be able to confide in me. I've never personally been taken in by it, I've come pretty close, but I'm in control enough to not go there, I'm lucky enough to be happy with myself. I think it's fair to say I have some strange interests...

Such a murky day. Lovely. I went for a stroll along the beach at about 4:00pm and got some lovely snaps of the sea. It was really relaxing, until I started walking home again and it chucked it down. I got completely soaked and it's a good job the camera, phone and iPod didn't break. It was so much fun though, I came into the house after succumbing to my body's protests and got a ride home, with a huge grin on my face. Moral of the story? The rain's just amazing - especially when it gets you so wet you look like you've just climbed out of a pool.

As I turned the corner, I saw her leaning against the rain soaked wall, frantically attempting to light her cigarette. Trying and failing as her hands were shaking, preventing the flame from staying put long enough to light it. Her face was stained with tears and her eyes had been rubbed to a state of deep, raw red.
I slowly walked up to her, taking the lighter out of my pocket in the process. As I approached her, I rubbed my thumb over the top of the metal ball and held it against her cigarette that was now hanging loosely from her lips. She didn’t even glance at me but just took a long drag and blew the opaque substance out. She watched the smoked intently as it danced off into the black night sky to mingle with the stars. As she brought the white stick back up to her mouth, I noticed how raw her thumb was from the lighter and I realised how much her smoking had increased since we came here. She must have noticed me looking as I heard her mumble “It wouldn’t light...”
I looked up and our eyes locked. I saw that she was crying again, gently and reluctantly, but she was crying nonetheless and I knew, from the look in her eyes, that she needed me to be there, to just be there with her. No parties. No alcohol. Nothing to take away the pain. She needed to feel the pain for once, because she felt that she needed to be real, and feel just like everyone else. I knew that, and she knew that around me, she could do just that. She needed a friend. And as I was looking at her, I felt stinging in my eyes and within a millisecond, tears of my own began to break out into the cool night air and roll down my face.
I took her into my arms, feeling her warmth surround my body, and she began crying into the crook of my neck as she clung to the back of my top. She shook viciously as she let the tears fall. She had stopped pretending, she had taken of the mask that she wears for the rest of the world. It was just me and her, and as we fell to the floor crying into each other, we didn’t care that the ground was soaking wet, or that we were sitting in years worth of mud and dirt. All we cared about was each other. We were just two fragile, broken girls sat in a dirty alleyway clinging onto each other as if our lives depended on it. For all the crap that we’d been through, for all the bastards we’d met and the friends we’d lost, we still had each other, and that’s all that mattered.
I stroked her hair softly and held her close. She was my best friend. We had gone through so much shit and yet, we were still there, together. As I continued to let her pour her heart out on my shoulder, I leaned upwards and softly whispered into her ear, “It’s us against the world”.

I think I've given up on the book idea. I once described my creativity as kinda like a bubble; it just sits on my head, soaking up any knew information or ideas that my brain comes up with and then every now and then it will just 'POP!' and everything will come pouring out and I have to scramble to soak it all back up again before it trickles away. Not so much fun.

I was actually quite pissed about Mecia Simson winning Britain's Next Top Model but, you know, give everyone a chance an' all... So I got Company and flicked to her spread and I did just that - flicked through it. It was absolutely nothing special. The photgraphy for it was fantastic and I actually adore the pictures but she's just too mediocre. Now, I don't know much about modelling so maybe I shouldn't be one to judge, but I'm pretty certain that if you caked me in make up and stuck me in front of a camera, I could do just as well. Sigh. There are alot of quotes I quote and though it may look as if I'm spewing a bunch of nonsense at people, they do mean something to me. I like quoting, not because I can't find the right words to say things myself, but because I think other people have said it better. I could talk and talk about everything I believe and trust but there's a large chance no one would care. But to put a long and tedious explanation into a quote sums everything up into one simple sentence and it usually portrays how I feel quite well.
So after having some down time and my aums, I've got a few quotes from two of my favorite people in the Universe that kinda reflect my frame of mind right now:

In case you haven't noticed, the topic I focused on today was me. I know I'm not a perfect person - far from it. I've spent 15 and a bit years of my life changing and developing into what I'm becoming right now. I've been a complete bitch at times and completely submissive at others. My fashion choices have gone through the mill and back and I'm glad to say that picking up a few copies of Company and Vogue about a year and a bit ago finally gave me and idea of the dos and don'ts. I'm still changing. And I'm trying to choose the right path. It's hard, sometimes, trying to shape yourself into a better person, trying to shake old baggage, to bury the knack to get jealous and irksome I still have, to dicard the way I find hate so easy to feel. I'm getting there, though, I am and I'm glad. I'm only 16 years old. I'm not leading myself the wrong way. I'm growing into a good person and I'm glad. I've got a good head screwed on me and I'm going places, not matter how unrealistic they may be. I dream and I'm not going to let my dream dissapear because of some crappy wall of recession that's built itself along my path. I'll climb over it, knock it down, whatever it takes, but I won't let it stand in my way. I'm going to finish this path of life not angry and resentful, lonely and cold, but happy and fulfilled, with as many friends walking with me as I can fit - and then more. I'm going to exercise my compassion and be as kind to others as I can, but I will not be taken for granted or be played for a fool. My career and my future will always be a factor I'll put above most other things. If I can't be happy with myself, with my life, how can I possibly hold a happy and strong relationship with any other human being? I wish myself good luck and remind myself that no matter what happens, at least music will be there to bail me out.

I've never realised how much I miss when I'm away from the webs for a few days. It's quite lame, actually. So I missed Pilates and salsa aerobics this week, not good, but I did get to spend some amazing time with my Dad and we caught up on some meditation together, which is always lovely. Not much to blog about tonight really, I could comment on the weather but it's just as cold as it was the other day, so that wouldn't be much of a pulse-racing topic. The only other thing is that I'm slightly craving a job so I can wear work clothes. Not helping the fact that my time has finally come (a bit later than everyone else's due to certain...defences I put up) and I have shamefully succumbed to the fad of 'Balmainia'. Would it be fair to blame Elle for advertising it so nicely (and repetitively)? Good job I'm not a career woman otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd be sporting those hideous, yet fucking lovely, shoulder pads. *hangs head in shame*

I wonder, sometimes, if something's slightly tweeked in my head. You see, when you sit down after 20 minutes of trying to salsa dance to Brian Adams' '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You' on your own, it kinda makes you think...

Homeless Shelter - Day 1

So, it's day 1 of painting the 'homeless shelter'. As you can see, we're very much still at stage one. This difficult and complex task entails lifting things and moving them out of the room and others to the centre of the room. This task must be performed with stealth and accuracy, otherwise a chest of draws might end up out the window (I wouldn't be surprised to be honest)

It also somehow includes going to the beach. Fun task. Stealth not necessary (unless your trying to balance on slippy sand up on a pile of rocks. Actually, it might be good to pack a little...)

So, as you can see, we have worked our arses off today. All that sea (poo) spray and damn sand. Tough work, tough work.

Pilates & Sweet Music

So, me and my main bitch went to Pilates today, for the first time! I'm already slightly addicted. That maybe because I'm determined to actually be able to do it :P I'm not a felixable person in anyway at all, which is probably why I find it so hard but that just makes me want to become pro at it all the more! Watch this space - in a year I'll have surpassed all the oldies in the class (yes, the 50 year old women were better at it than us... kudos, ladies, kudos). We're also gonna hop along to salsa aerobics and see what that's like. I can't imagine it to be bad. I mean, aerobics AND salsa in the same thing! How could it be?
